CirSchool Games Repository

From here you can query the Games repository that has been developed within the framework of the CirSchool project. This is a collection of over 100 games that can be used in order to teach using Circus Activities.The collection can be searched by name of the game, type of game, experience level, minimum age, impact on Confidence, Creativity, Team work and Risk management abilities. From the list of games you can see a detailed presentation of each game by pressing the right arrow next to the game listing. The detailed presentation will provide you with:
  • A full description of the game and how it should be carried out
  • The kind of game, its best use and ages suited, the level of expertise needed, the equipment needed and - where possible - low cost alternatives
  • Info on the pedagogical impact of this game
  • Where possible an image of the game being played

Creation of a performance This procedure is foreseen for the final meetings, after each pupil has chosen the activity they want to specialise in, and small working groups have been created. Each meeting is dedicated to a speciality, in order to allow all the pupils to express themselves in all the circus disciplines. The teacher subdivides the space for each of the groups of instruments and explains the activity: creation of group performances in an autonomous and creative manner. Each group has to follow the execution of the sequence to be performed: Entrance, performance, greeting the public, exit. The performance includes coreographic actions and original themes, using a musical background.

Creative walk with objects The various walks can be made with all the tools of juggling Creative walking with music, with 3 different gaits according to the music: normal, slow and fast. At each stop the music, everyone has to stay like a statue. Creative walking with music, using an object of juggling. Transform the object chosen using imagination, always following the music. At each stop the music, everyone has to stay like a statue. Evolution 1: in each of the four corners of the gym there are a family of objects, Chinese plates, balls, flowerstick, diabolo; each person chooses the object and invents a creative action, when the music stops all are locked; at the start of the conductor, or when the music starts, the people change the object. The activity continues until all have tried all objects. Evolution 2: participants interact with other participants, without speaking, entering into communication with their actions.

Creative walking with red nose Creative walking with music, moving and occupying all the previously defined space, staying as far as possible from the other students, using musical circus rhythms, inventing expressions and clown-type caricatures. Every time the music stops, everyone has to freeze like a statue. The teacher observes the most original ideas proposed by the children and asks them to present them to the group. Variation. The participants are asked to interact with each other, without speaking, entering into communication with each other’s actions.

Lift A small group of children at a time (3,4 or 5) and others observe. Put a red nose, you become "Clown". The nose should never be touched with the hands. All Clown of the small group will have to stand behind the depth (in squatting position) without being seen by spectators. At the command of the conductor children get up slowly and simultaneously, then have to use the eye peripheral without turning around, to observe the other clowns; they must arrive in the same time, in an upright position, with an eye to the public that is in front of them, absolutely without moving anything, keeping the initial expression. Before picking up the clowns, conductor proposes to interpret the theme from. Examples of interpretation must be happiness, sadness, hunger, sleep ... .. obviously presenting them in a fun way. At the command of the conductor, the Clowns must return squatting.
